“MAAPERUM TAMIL KANAVU” a cultural outreach program, was coordinated by Tamil Virtual Academy, Department of Higher Education and the District Administration on 24.03.2023 Friday at 10:30 A.M in Sardar Raja Engineering College, Alangulam.Tenkasi District Collector Honourable Mr.Durai Ravichandran ,Makkal Sinthai Peravai Chairman Erode Mr. T. Stalin Gunasekaran, Philosopher Mr.Arumugatamizhalan were the Special Guests of Honour. Students from various colleges in the district participated in the program; Fifty eight students with three professors of our college joined the same. Students explored the book exhibition and women self-help group exhibition arranged in the campus. K. Prabha of III BA Tamil shared an oral review of the book “Tamil Perumitham” for which she received a certificate and a shield from the District Collector. Tamil literary personalities delivered speech on the topics “Olai Suvadigalum kala Suvadugalum” , “Arivinai Viruvu Sei”, The day’s program came to an end with a questionnaire and a feedback form in which the students shared their views. The program with no doubt was useful to the students.

Sixth Annual College Day Celebrations

The celebration went on very well Amidst the Threatening of thunder storm rain. Chairman Dr. S. Velladurai Pandian presided over the function, in front of Managing Director Smt.V. Vellathai. The Chief Guest spoke about Women Empowerment, Innovative job opportunities – scope etc., in a detailed manner. Principal Dr. R. Eswaran Welcomed the gathering and Vice Chairman Smt.Prakasavalli Sundar read the 6th Annual Report. It was cristal clear of all yearly events. Vyasa queens performed cultural on the topic “Women”, there were totally Nine Dances. All thoroughly enjoyed.52 Students and 27 Professors received their meritorious awards from Chief Guest. At the end Ms. Sirin Barhana College Pupil Leader Proposed Vote of Thanks. All Teaching & Non Teaching staff were full dedicated to make this function “A Grand Success”.

Our Vyasa Farewell 2023 popped with Vibrant music, Our Queens were led by their class in charges. They were made to sit in their Places allotted according to their Department. Mrs.T. Indrapriyadharshini, Department of English gave the Welcome Speech. Then came the blessing session. It began with Our God Father Chairman Sir, Sri Vellathurai Pandian, who blessed our Queens to Have A Bright Future. Next with the blessings of Our God Mother MD Madam Srimathi Vellathaai emphasized the importance of Self Respect for Women. The blessing session was followed by the Principal Sir Dr. R.Eswaran,Exam co ordinator Mrs.S.Sujatha and All HODs who greeted our Queens with their amiable Speech.Mrs. T. Indrapriyadharshini, Department of English inspired our students with Farewell Songs . Our Queens were enticed by the selection of her songs. Then the interesting turn of the event came with the Voice Identification game. Our Queens interestingly engaged in finding out voices. At the end of the formal farewell our Queens were distributed Mementos by Our College Management, in which it was inscribed as “MAY YOU ASPIRE TO INSPIRE IN EVERY EVENT OF YOUR LIFE”, Which encouraged and motivated the students. The session came to close with the Vote of Thanks was rendered by a student M. Shameera Barveen, lll B.A. ENGLISH.

1. Vyasites have bagged many prizes. 2. In the Cook without Fire Competition, our Physics department queens had Won Second Prize out of 30 teams. 3. In the Dance Competition, Vyasa queens have won Second Prize out of 11 teams. 4. In the Art from waste Competition, our Commercedepartment queens have bagged Second Prize out of 17 teams. 5. Educational Tour

Educational Tour has been planned well by our Chairman Sir and Principal for the past one month. Around 253 students joined the Educational tour. Five faculty members, four lab Assistants with one Office Assistant were allotted to monitor students in the tour. By the Blessing of the Almighty we started our trip on 17th February 9.30p.m. All students were segregated in their allotted buses, of Srivilliputur. On 18.2.2023/Saturday, 6.00 a.m we reached Chottanikarai and got refreshed in our respective lodges. After having breakfast, by 9.15 a.m. they were taken to Hill Palace Museum in Tripunithura, the largest archeological museum in the state and was the imperial administrative office and official residence of the Cochin Maharaja. At 11.15a.m all left the palace to Athirapally waterfall at Thrissur District. It is the largest waterfall in Kerala and nicknamed "The Niagara of South India", we Tamilians call as “Punnagai Mannan waterfall".Students enjoyed a delicious Chicken Biryani and Raita (Non-Vegetarian), and Vegetable Biryani and Raita (Vegetarian) in the afternoon for lunch in the waterfalls region. All left the place by 5.00 p.m. to Lulu shopping Mall through Metro Train. The experience made students feel elated. Students had Appam and Chicken Gravy (NV) / Appam and Vegetable gravy (V).The day ended happily. The second day: 19.2.2023, at 7.30am our students were provided breakfast: Poori with potato masala gravy. Students reached Cherai Beach, in Vypin Island at 9.00 am and extremely overwhelmed with the beauty of nature. They took selfies and photos with their friends. Students were taken to Vallarpallam RC Church for lunch at 3.00pm. It is a major Christian pilgrimage centre in India. They were provided, Fish gravy and fry for Non-vegetarians / White rice, potato gravy and egg gravy for Vegetarians.After lunch, at 5.00pm they visited Vasco da Gama Beach for purchase. Our Principal explained the specialty of the region and church and saw the tomb of Vasco da Gama, the first European navigator, located at St. Francis church. Marine Drive Boating with DJ Dance is the ultimate enjoyment that they spent from 7.30 pm to 11.00 pm (on shift basis). Our queens thoroughly enjoyed shopping and this boat travel experience. From 11.00 pm dinner was served: Parota with chicken gravy / Parotta with vegkuruma. On the third day: 20.2.2023, Breakfast was provided from 7.30 am: Tea, Venpongal, Kesari, Vada with sambar and chutney. Some of our queens visited ChottanikaraiBhagavati Amman temple and brought prasadham and then started to Wonderla. WONDERLA, the Largest Amusement Park in India thrilled our queens with wonder games. Our Queens enjoyed wet games and dry games extremely with their friends irrespective of departments. And at night, they were provided Rava kichadi and Veg Briyani for dinner. We set out for return by 9.30 p.m and reached our College premises safely the next morning (21.2.23). To Celebrate smaller moments and share big wonders, Tour is the best place! Our Queens celebrated it to cherish these as their loving memories in future!

NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME CAMP

Vyasa Arts and Science Women’s College, Subramaniapuram together with Manonmanium Sundaranar University conducted seven days NSS camp in Tharugapuram village of Sivagiri Taluk, from 30.01.2023 to 05.02.2023. University NSS Co-ordinator Dr.A.Veliappan, graced the occasion and spoke about the importance of NSS and the need of student’s participation. All the participants showed their assurance through a pledge; Puliangudi D.S.P. D. Ashok delivered a speech of awareness on womens’ safety. Govt. Siddha Dr. Arockia Raj ignited the gathering about the uses of Siddha Medicine and 108 ambulance services. Mr. Esakki Muthu & Mr.Madaswami, station officers, and his group members exhibited a live demo of emergency Fire safety procedures. A free eye care camp was conducted by Dr.Agarwal Eye Hospitals, for the benefit of the villagers. Rangoli competition was held to bring out the artistic talents of Housewives/homemakers of Tharugapuram. Other than this, everyday dramas, dance, poetic stories, debate were performed by our NSS Queens to insist ethical values & morality on students’ community. Temple, General Library, School premises were cleaned on field work. With the blessings of our Godfather Chairman sir Dr. VelladuraiPandian, the guidance of Secretary Sir and the Counselling of M.D Mam, the camp is a next feather in our cap. The camp was organised by Dr.Eswaran, the Principal, Dr.Avoodaiammal, the Coordinator and Dr. Muthu Lakshmi the assistant coordinator, with the help of other workers. As representatives, the president of the village Kavitha, Karunalaya Pandiyan, Muthu Pandiyan, Thopaiya Pandian, The Temple administrator Velladurai Pandian, Advocate Krishnan & Senthil Kumar, Govt. Siddha Doctor Rani Duraichi, & Swami Primary School HeadMistress Muthu Duraichi joined the camp. All were presented with Mementoes. The camp met its fruitful end.

The academic year’s Parents Teachers Meet was held for Arts group and Science group separately in the Seminar hall between 10.30 a.m and 12.30 p.m. Nearly 50% of the Parents attended. Chairman Sir presided over the function in the presence of Managing Director, Principal, Exam Co-ordination and H.O.Ds. Formalities like Welcome speech and Vote of Thanks were presented by H.O.Ds concerned. Chief Man Sir gave a brief speech on Vision and Mission of Vyasa College. Principal sir explained about the Scope of Higher Studies in the college. Managing Director explained about the Aims and Objectives of Starting Vyasa Women’s College in this area, parents expectations from the college and mode of fulfilling them, Management’s expectations from the Parents, future planning of Vyasa in a detailed manner. An interaction session was held with parents. With snacks distribution the meets came to a close.

“Vyasa’s Tamilachi’s Veera Thai Pongal”

Yes. It was celebrated in a grand manner. Nearly 15 days preparations were there. Full Tamil culture & tradition was brought out in the campus. Prior to these two days, traditional games like, Thattankal, Thyakkattam, Pallankuzhi, Kolam/Rangoli competitions were conducted. On 11/1/23, Foot court competition was held for all departments, 7 participated. Typical Tamilians food items were prepared and exhibited. In the menu nearly 104 food items were there. Very Nutritious & Tasty they were. Out of 7/3 got selected. (Physics, Zoology & Chemistry) On 12/1/2023, I Year Queens group event of Rangoli competition was held. Maths & Tamil Departments were selected. In the afternoon, at 1.30 p.m the celebration began with bringing department wise Cheerivarisai. The 47 elected leaders of all, brought management’s Cheervarisai first with Band & Nathaswaram lead. They were really like Queens & received by II M.A Queens & arranged in side the Chiruveedu. Then Dept wise Cheer were brought as per lots. It was amazing! All 202 of Commerce dept Queens had brought 202 Cheervarisai plates with things. It was excellent & unbelievable. Incredible! At 2.00p.m management, & all 8 depts kept Pongal in their dept’s decorated Chiru veedus. Side by side, Dr. Arokiam’s cultural programmes were held. After offering Pongal to Nature, Sun God by all, the things, that they had brought were offered to all non teaching menial workers as Charity as per lots. Sweet Pongal was distributed to all 900 students & staff. ( Teaching & Non teaching) On 13/1/2023, all eight depts queens, staged, the forgotten culture & traditions of Tamilians. Like, Tamilians festivals, Fine Arts, Birth to Death Rituals, Foods, Professions, Apparatus, Sales Things & Games. It was educative, informative & eye catching. Finally, Trophies, merit certificates & prizes were distributed to all the winners. Based on the tally chart, Commerce from Arts group & Mathematics from Science group had won the overall Trophies. On the Whole, it was a Grand Success! Thanks to the Lord Almighty!

Recruitment of Gr. II PCs/Gr. II Jail Warders and Firemen for the Year 2022 examination was held in Tamil Nadu State. There were 35 cities with 295 exam centres. Out of Three lakhs sixty six thousand seven hundred and twenty seven candidates, nearly 800 candidates took up their exam at Vyasa College between 10.00 a.m. and 12.40 p.m. Very good arrangements were made by the department of Police. The examinations were conducted smoothly without any hindrance.

National Communal Harmony Campaign Week (19.11.2022 to 25.11.2022)

As per the instructions and guidelines of the Government of India, we observed the National Communal Harmony Campaign week and Flag day by presenting a speech on Peace and Harmony. Our College Managing Director Smt.V.Vellathai Avl., gave a direction for the movement of Harmony and Peace within the college. Mrs.A.Pandi Lakshmi, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce presented a content of Harmony and Peace. In this speech, the following points were stressed and ask the students to cope up with the National integrity and maintain peace in the society by holding the harmonious relationship with one another. Every citizen must possess the qualities of treating all as equal, consider others as brothers and sisters, avoid communal clashes, no discrimination due to caste, religion, race and language and respect all religions. Students are adviced to follow our Prime Minister’s word “யாதும் ஊரே யாவரும் கேளீர் ”and treat everyone as equal. As a part of Flag day, students are advised to contribute amount and the same will be paid in favour of Secretary, National Foundation for Communal Harmony.

Red Ribbon Club Online Quiz Competition

A state level online quiz programme held byRED RIBBON CLUB under the guidance of TAMIL NADU STATE AIDS CONTROL SOCIETYwent on well today by 11 AM TO 11.45 a.m. As a prior action the circular was forwarded to all the departments and a mini meet was conducted on 18.11.22 Friday and the students were instructed the process of registration and logging in. Accordingly nearly 40 registered and approved students participated from our college today. As per the instructions they logged in by 11.am. As the competition started 50 questions were displayed on the screen one by one and they had been provided 45 minutes. It had been instructed already that according to the specified time duration which they spent for selecting the answers, two winners would be selected for state level prizes. All the students followed the instructions promptly and eagerly attended all the questions and they successfully finished the competition by 11.20 am. After finishing the event their mobile phones were collected by the department representatives and handed over to their class in-charges. It was a new experience for all the students

Our M.D madam gave the instructions and guidance for the above programme, as per Madam’s instruction Dr.Manju.R H.O.D and Assistant Professor gave a speech about Antimicrobial Resistance, Prevent infection and reduce antibiotic usages, Hand hygiene, Antibiotic misuse, reduce antimicrobial use and reduce antimicrobial resistance. The captions were displayed on the main notice board.

The Second Graduation Ceremony was held at V.V. Mahal, Puliankudy, between 11.00 a.m and 1.00 p.m. The Chief guest was Dr.C.Kannan, DEAN, College Development Council, Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli. The ceremony was held exactly as per the Norms & Rules of the Higher Education Development. 280 Vyasa queens, including, the one Gold medal winner, and 24 other University rank holders received their degrees & took their Pledge. The Chief guest gave an inspiring address about the Importance of Continuation of Higher Studies after getting their first degree. The hall was full with parents. After the event, lunch was provided to all including parents. It was a grand success. There was a perfect co-operation & co-ordination from both Teaching & Non Teaching staff. May the Almighty Bless All the degree awardees to get many more degrees in future years to come.

Tamil Nadu Fire Service and Rescue Department in hands with Vyasa Arts and Science Women’s College YRC, conducted “An Awareness program on Safe Diwali Celebration” at our college at 3.00 p.m. Our College Principal delivered the welcome note. The programme was headed by the college Chairman Dr.S.Velladurai Pandian. Vasudevanallur Fire Station officer Mr.M.Shaik Abudula along with other Fire Service station employees demonstrated the programme and Mr.M.Shaik Abdulla addressed the gathering, then he gave live demonstration with fire engine and crackers. Youth Welfare and Sports Development Department issued orders for celebration of “YOUTH AWAKENING DAY” in remembrance of Bharat Ratna A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. In our college on Saturday (15.10.2022) we conducted an hour lecture about “The development ideas propounded by later Dr.A.P.J. Abdul Kalam” with resource person Dr. Indira Gunaseelan, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics, Vyasa Arts and Science Women’s College, Subramaniyapuram. In the speech she delivered about the Dr. Kalam’s development and his major contribution to India, Science, technology and his leadership qualities. The speech motivated them to take inspiration from Dr. Kalam and progress in life. In the speech she also encouraged them to work hard to make our country proud. An icon of inspiring visionary – the speech exhorted the students to follow simplicity aim like Abdul Kalam.

Secondly ,she paid a visit to the Computer Science Lab and Computer Science class room regarding adequate furniture, Computer Units, Systems etc., and satisfied with everything. Hope to get permission to provide additional 5 seats in the course at the college.

The event was organized and conducted by the Queens(students)of the Vyasa. During the morning session ,the Prayer session was carried over by the students.National Flag was hoisted by the CPL.Thought explanation in Tamil & English was given by final year Queens.Announcement was read by a second year students.Nearly 75 vyasites acted as professors and taught new units,from each class,one best student professor was selected based on the marks obtained and given merit certifications and prizes. After this, all faculty members including Principal Sir,Exam Co-Coordinator,H.O.Ds,Non-teaching staff were presented with silver & other mementos sponsored by the management,but given by students.After lunch,served by the management,different games like Rampwalk,Musical chair,Quiz & Fun games were conducted for all.Winners were honoured with prizes & merit certificates.All faculties (both teaching & non-teaching) enthusiastically participated. On the whole,it was a grand success & enjoyable one.

FRESHERS DAY 2022

First year, newly admitted Princess had their First day college life. Department wise H.O.Ds welcomed their department Vyasites by offering each a rose in the lobby. Second year volunteers of each department guided and took their younger sisters to their classrooms. In each classroom, their Class Incharges welcomed them with a toffee. Seniors showed their affection warm welcome through their notice board and wall decorations. Being the First day, General Assembly was held by Third year Queens. It was very colourful. First Flag hoisting of the year was done by Principal Sir. Then First day formalities like diary issuing, time table subjects handling Professors names, Diary’s explanation were given. Seniors offered gifts to their juniors each. In the afternoon, fully enjoyments were there. Each department Vyasites entertained their Freshers with dances, skits, dramas etc. So, first day was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. It was a grand success.
